Raffmetal is proud to be one of the 28 partners in the ZEvRA project, funded by Horizon Europe, which aims to achieve zero CO2 emissions for light electric vehicles (EVs) by 2035. This ambitious project, launched in January 2024 and running until December 2026, aims to transform the entire value chain of EVs, from production to end-of-life processes, with a strong focus on sustainability. In addition to developing innovative solutions, the project includes training programs for the automotive sector and awareness initiatives to promote zero-emission solutions.
Today, Raffmetal had the pleasure of hosting some partners from the project, a valuable moment to strengthen collaboration and promote the circular economy in the automotive sector as well. With the support of major manufacturers, ZEvRA aims to transform the life cycle of at least 59% of electric vehicles in Europe by 2035, in line with the European Union's goal of drastically reducing CO2 emissions.
Through the implementation of Design for Circularity strategies, ZEvRA will develop a holistic circularity assessment methodology, aiming to reduce the environmental impact of EV production. Innovative solutions will include the use of circular materials such as aluminum, accompanied by advanced digital tools to optimize production and ensure component traceability. Raffmetal is excited to participate in this innovative European project and to actively contribute to creating a more sustainable future.
